Jane Austen (1775–1817) is one of the most important writers of all time and her major works are among the great classics of English literature. Austens Hauptwerke wie Stolz und Vorurteil und Emma zählen zu den Klassikern der englischen Literatur. Im Mittelpunkt ihres literarischen Werks steht vielfach die Zerrissenheit junger Damen des gehobenen ländlichen Bürgertums, die zwischen den Erwartungen des Adels und ihrer eigenen Vorstellung von Glück stehen.

Constanze Wilken, geb. 1968 in St. Peter-Ording, studierte Kunstgeschichte, Politologie und Literaturwissenschaften in Kiel und promovierte an der University of Wales in Aberystwyth. Als Autorin ist sie sowohl mit großen Frauen- als auch mit historischen Romanen erfolgreich. Zuletzt erschienen von ihr Villa Seestern – Ein neuer Wind sowie Rückkehr nach Fisherman's Cove.
