Bourgeois culture as a way of life and a lifestyle are omnipresent in Germany even in the 21st century, and along with this phenomenon it still remains attractive to learn more about the bourgeoisie and the bourgeois lifestyle from a historical point of view. This volume is a study of the economic, lifestyle and political aspects of the history of the bourgeoisie, seen as a complex web of spatial, regional, university and scientific coherences.
