The Daily Watchwords spread all over the world and are known as the most famous devotional book of the Protestants. There are translations in more than 50 languages. Until today they advise in political, economical, and spiritual issues. Peter Zimmerling brings to light new aspects of reception, theology and practice, and evokes Otto von Bismarck, Jochen Klepper and Dietrich Bonhoeffer who regularly benefited from the reading. Dr. theol. Peter Zimmerling ist evangelischer Theologe und Professor für Praktische Theologie an der Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Leipzig. Von 2012 bis 2020 war er Erster Universitätsprediger in Leipzig.
